UD1 - PNP
« on: January 11, 2023, 09:59:24 AM »
I purchased the UD1 after the UB1. I am trying to connect two PNP sensors to the UD1. They are ATC tool clamp and release sensors. See the attached image for what the spindle manufacturer provided. I've tried both methods in the UD1 manual. Which are board power and board common. I've also tried external power and external common. The external solution wasn't working either but caused external relays on the UB1 to fire rapidly.

Neither method has worked.

Additionally I have tried multi different inputs. X413 & X415 also X402 & X403.

I have not added any solder changes to either board other than the Safety circuit and K3 CP solder change on the UB1. Am I missing a solder connection on either board? Or what am I doing wrong?

When I change the drawbar state in the spindle neither pin is lighting up in the diagnostic. The physical LEDs light up when the common and power are connected properly. They light up green. But the states do not change with the changes to the drawbar.

According to the PNP sensor Black is connected to the UD1 input pin. Blue is 0v and brown is 24v.

From your describing, it seems that everything is correct and the results should be carried out.

For UD and UB1 inputs, if the input connection is correct, you will see the light, and the visual LED on the UCCNC diagnostic page should show the state on/off when you turn the input on/ off. You can also test UD/UB1 inputs by making a simple connection with copper wire and turning the light on and off.

For the sensors, I would like you to test them as well. because the output can be damaged or the output type can be different from what is stated in the manual.

"They light up green. But the states do not change with the changes to the drawbar." please measure the output voltage whether it is 5V.

What output voltage am I measuring? Of the power supply?

I meant the output voltage of all PNP type sensors or external devices. If you connect a 5v output to a 24v input, then you can only see the dim light. It doesn't not change the logic for uc300, the virtual LEDs in diagnostic page will not change as well.
